A Dream Come True: Taking My Kids to America

I finally managed to get the kids away on a big holiday, and for me, as a single parent, it feels so surreal.

Trying to give your kids the best isn’t easy. As a parent, you’re constantly trying your best to give them experiences, opportunities and memories, and that’s what I’ve always tried to do. This is the second big holiday we’ve had as a family since the divorce, and this time we’re going to the United States of America to visit friends and family.

The kids are super, super, super excited. I’m excited too — not only for all the fun we’re going to have, but also because of what this trip represents. We’ve come this far, and I’ve been able to make this happen for my kids.

Coming to the United States has always been a dream of theirs, so being able to take them there feels incredibly surreal. It feels like a really significant time in our lives as a family. There have been difficult times, but moments like this remind me that we have kept moving forward, and that makes me proud.

So, yes, we’re looking forward to all the fun things we’re going to do, the places we’ll see and the memories we’re going to make.

And then there’s my garden!

Leaving my garden behind was something I was worried about. I kept thinking about all my plants and whether they would survive while I was away. So, naturally, I decided to create my own little irrigation system using water bottles!

I tested it over the week before we left to make sure it was working, and thankfully, I managed to get it sorted.

So now I’m leaving my garden in the hands of my very own DIY irrigation system.

I’ll keep you posted on whether my little experiment worked. Hopefully, when I get back, my plants will still be alive, and my garden will have survived my holiday!
